Full Job Description
Introduction to Role:

As Director, Business Planning & Operations, you will be a senior operational leader at the centre of Evinova's Leadership Team - translating strategy into execution, driving AI-enabled operational efficiency, and raising the bar on how Evinova plans, communicates, and runs its business. Reporting to the Head of Business Planning & Operations, you will own the operating rhythm that keeps the company aligned and moving: the Evinova scorecard, the business calendar, performance management, and the priority initiatives that matter most to leadership.

This is a deliberately senior and specialized role. Where Business Operations has historically carried a broad generalist remit, this position concentrates on the areas that most directly drive Evinova's operational transformation and growth: embedding AI and automation across operations, elevating executive-level communications and decision-making, and strengthening customer-facing business operations. You will combine sharp analytical judgement, consulting-grade structure, and a refined eye for executive presentation to help Evinova scale.

Accountabilities:

Operational Transformation & AI Enablement:
  • Identify, prioritize, and deliver AI-enabled operational efficiency across Evinova, including the design and deployment of AI agents and automation to streamline how the business runs.
  • Operationalize AI adoption across functions, partnering with teams to embed new tools and ways of working into day-to-day operations.
  • Establish metrics to track the impact of efficiency and automation initiatives and continuously refine them based on results.

Strategic Planning & Performance Management:
  • Own the Evinova scorecard end-to-end - tracking, execution, and the operating rhythm that keeps leadership focused on the right priorities.
  • Drive the annual and long-range planning cycles (MTP/LTP), chasing inputs and holding the business to its commitments.
  • Maintain the Evinova business calendar and lead the cross-Evinova BPO forum, ensuring a coherent operating rhythm across functions.
  • Establish, monitor, and report KPIs and OKRs through Evinova analytics, surfacing insight that informs leadership decisions.

Executive Communications & Leadership Team Support:
  • Support Head of BPO in facilitation of Leadership Team meetings, coordinate actions through to closure, and lead LT special projects.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and dashboards that are decision-ready and polished to a high professional standard.
  • Partner with senior leaders to structure complex problems, shape recommendations, and tell a clear, compelling story to internal and external audiences.

Customer-Facing Business Operations:
  • Strengthen the operational backbone that supports customer-facing activity, including customer activity coordination, product roadmap and commercial alignment, and related commercial and platform processes.
  • Support business-case development and commercial-proposal work, bringing operational rigour and consistency to customer-facing outputs.
  • Own the Salesforce / commercial platform from a business perspective and drive sales-process automation.

Key Project Oversight & Cross-Functional Alignment:
  • Lead priority projects and initiatives end-to-end, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated, timelines are met, and outcomes are delivered.
  • Drive cross-Evinova operational alignment and represent Business Operations in relevant internal and external meetings as needed.
  • Support the Evinova & AstraZeneca R&D partnership, ensuring alignment between Evinova operations and broader AZ priorities.

Risk Management:
  • Coordinate risk management across Evinova, partnering with the Enterprise Risk Management team and maintaining the risk register.
  • Support targeted training and communication to teams on Evinova's Enterprise Risk Management system and processes.

Team Collaboration:
  • Foster a collaborative, high-trust environment within Business Operations and across other departments.
  • Model a culture of innovation, accountability, and open communication.

Sustainability:
  • Manage Evinova's CO2 targets and the associated tracking process.

Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy, project management, or a related field, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and working effectively with senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex problems and propose effective, well-structured solutions.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to drive operational efficiency.
  • Professional polish and refined taste in business presentations - the ability to produce executive- and customer-ready materials is a critical success factor for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a diverse, global environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving industry.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desirable for the Role:
  • An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience building AI agents or automations (e.g., with Claude or similar tools).
  • Management consulting background and experience working directly with executive or leadership teams.
  • Data analytics or business intelligence experience (e.g., Power BI or a comparable platform).
  • Experience in the health tech industry or a technology-driven sector.
