Role Overview

The Director, Business Development is responsible for sourcing, developing and ultimately securing new business opportunities for the company in accordance with our client development organization and is responsible for providing support where necessary on global pursuits led by fellow client development team members.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Execute the client development strategy
  • Develop and execute prospecting strategy within the defined territory / account tiers. Define Enterprise and Portfolio accounts by present and potential value of revenues/profits, cost to sell and service, and probability of success
  • Identify, build and maintain winning business relationships
  • Initiate and complete proposals, presentations, terms and conditions, negotiations and execution for the acquisition of opportunities
  • Meet or exceed annual new contract revenue targets
  • Manage monthly sales call activity to achieve revenue goals
  • Manage Sirva's prospect management application - Salesforce.com
  • Participate in team selling activity for regional and global accounts with counterparts within and outside the AMER region
  • Maintain market intelligence on competitor activities
  • Attend conferences / events to network with prospects, clients and competitors
  • Manage and develop broader relationships with existing internal stakeholders (Client Services, Supply Chain Management, Finance, etc.)
  • Identify, build, and manage long term relationships with strategic partners in the industry


What You Bring to Sirva
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in client development or consulting, ideally in a workforce mobility / talent management environment
  • Likely currently working in a global mobility, relocation or professional services capacity
  • Proven success in pursuit and stakeholder management
  • Well versed in cultivating relationships at an executive level
  • Experience in managing multi-stakeholder, complex workforce mobility opportunities
  • Experience of international HR / assignment management or a related field
  • Excellent presentation skills and an ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Numeric and analytical skills essential. Ability to manipulate financial data and complex management information
  • Ability to use all Windows systems to advanced levels including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Fluency in English and (ideally) French are a prerequisite
  • Ability to deliver objectives while demonstrating a strong sense of integrity
  • Work well independently and as a team player. Will be seen as a credible leader by others in the organization

  • Position Title: Director, Business Development
  • Salary Range: $114,000-$134,000 CAD
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package that includes choice of two Medical plans and two dental plans; Retirement plan, RRSP employer match (after 1 year), Life & Disability Insurance, and more. Benefits are based on employment status and may not be available for temporary or part-time employees


Salary ranges may vary based on location, market conditions, and other factors such as experience and qualifications. The final compensation will be determined during the hiring process based on these considerations.
