Summary:

As part of the vibrant US Power team, the Director, Business Development will be responsible for developing profitable new business to support growth in the U.S in the gas-fired power generation, power networks and nuclear markets, across regional and national IOU, IPP, and potential quasi-public utilities accounts. Will assist in the development of strategies and driving the implementation by leading regional development initiatives. Will lead the development of proposals, value propositions, and commercial approaches.

Purpose:

We are seeking a Director, Business Development to drive business growth by developing tailored solutions and building strong client relationships. This role will identify new sales opportunities, support the needs of current and prospective clients, and oversee a portfolio of customer accounts. The Director is responsible for sales, market intelligence, account management, and delivering value in the U.S. power networks and nuclear sectors. Collaboration with internal teams is essential to enhance the overall customer experience and deliver comprehensive solutions. As a key leader, the Director aligns with company values, fosters positive internal and external relationships, and ensures commitments are met to promote ongoing business.

Through their account management focus, they remain active in the delivery and operations of the business through customer relationships to assure we deliver on our commitments to enable repeat business.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive profitable revenue growth by developing new business across assigned U.S. power, networks, and nuclear accounts.
  • Own and grow key customer accounts, acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new client opportunities within targeted utility, IPP, and quasi public markets.
  • Lead sales pursuits end to end, including strategy, win plans, value propositions, and commercial positioning.
  • Develop and execute account plans that drive sustained pipeline and contract awards.
  • Partner with regional leadership and delivery teams to shape growth strategies and bring full service solutions to clients.
  • Lead pricing strategy, proposal development, and bid governance, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts in collaboration with legal, risk, and operations teams.
  • Maintain active client engagement during delivery to ensure commitments are met and repeat business is secured.
  • Represent the company externally at industry events, conferences, and forums to strengthen market presence and relationships.


What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10+ years' experience in gas power networks, nuclear or associated industries.
  • Established credibility with customers and key stakeholders within target utilities including business development experience. Will consider candidates with Advisory, EPC or client-based experience.
  • Experience with/background of asset life cycle, in the gas power networks and nuclear market. Power utilities industry and/or nuclear engineering experience preferred.
  • Track record of developing and implementing complex business strategy.
  • Experience of successfully partnering with, and influencing client executives, senior management, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Must possess a high level of commercial acumen, with an ability to articulate benefits in the solutions created at a variety of levels within the client organizations.
  • Experience in both sales and projects and/or operations essential.
  • Alignment with Worley's values, drivers, and commitment to customer service.
  • Strategic thinker who can develop and implement complex pursuit plans.
  • Proactively manage and collaborate across a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural organization.
  • Able and willing to travel throughout region, approximately 25%-50%.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

    Similar working level obtained through relevant job experience may be accepted in lieu of degree level education.
