Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Director of Business Development to join our Global Business Development Team to lead our efforts in expanding our viral vector CDMO services in the East Coast area of the US, ideally located within Pennsylvania or North Carolina.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Prospecting and engaging potential customers in the gene therapy and vaccine sectors and fostering long-term relationships that meet OXB's business objectives
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, and clients, including biotech companies, research institutions, and industry leaders to expand awareness for OXB capabilities and drive long term growth.
  • Collaborate with the Global Commercial Operations on the preparation of proposals to win new business as well as partnering with Commercial Program Management teams to manage active customer programs.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, including Clinical and Commercial Supply and Services agreements and Licensing agreements.
  • Cross collaboration with the wider Global Commercial & Marketing Teams to create compelling value propositions and promotional materials.
  • Develop and share local market expertise, win/loss analysis, defining opportunities for differentiation, and updating competitive landscape in the CGT market.


You will need:

  • A degree education (Bachelor or Masters) within Life Sciences, business, PhD and/or MBA also welcome
  • Proven experience in life sciences companies, pharmaceutical companies, CDMOs or related sectors with a preference for experience working in Cell and Gene therapies
  • Experience in business development and/or sales & marketing roles for B2B business, preferably in the Pharma/Biopharma sector
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding within the biologics and.or gene therapy sector ideally within a CDMO or similar business.
  • Knowledge of the overall structure of biologics process development and GMP manufacturing projects in Pharma & Biotech.
  • Understanding of commercial & legal contract terms and used for customer contracts, including clinical and commercial supply agreements, process development agreements and license agreements.
  • Strong communicator, public speaker & cross departmental collaborator both face to face and over digital platforms.
  • An appreciation of working within a diverse international culture.
