Role Purpose

The Business Development Specialist, DCBU supports Corning's growth within the hyperscale data center ecosystem by helping identify market opportunities, develop customer and partner relationships, and execute engagement plans aligned to business priorities. This role gathers customer, market, and competitive insights; supports account and partnership activities; and collaborates with cross-functional teams to connect customer needs with Corning's products, services, and technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support identification of priority hyperscale data center ecosystem targets and assist with engagement planning.
  • Build working relationships with targeted customers, partners, channels, contractors, OEMs, design firms, and industry associations under guidance from senior team members.
  • Contribute to account, distribution, and partnership plans by gathering information, tracking actions, and supporting follow-through with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect and summarize market, customer, and competitive intelligence to inform sales, marketing, technical strategy, demand planning, and risk discussions.
  • Monitor customer requirements, buying factors, and industry trends to help identify opportunities for current and next-generation solutions.
  • Assist Pricing, Product Line Management, account leaders, and other functions by preparing inputs for customer discussions, proposals, negotiations, and contract reviews.
  • Coordinate with Applications Engineering, Customer Service, Systems Engineering, Technology, and Sales to support timely customer responses and aligned communication.
  • Support development of customer presentations and marketing materials that reflect customer technical requirements and business priorities.
  • Contribute to HSDC programs, projects, and account growth activities with direction from managers or senior business development leaders.


Experiences/Education - Required

  • BS or MS degree required; MBA preferred
  • 6 plus years of Sales, Business Development, Market Development, Product Management, or related commercial experience
  • 3 plus years of Data Center Market experience preferred or equivalent exposure to technology, telecom, infrastructure, or enterprise customer markets

The range for this position is $151,376.00 - $208,142.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
