The
Director - Brokerage Operations, Account Lifecycle, manages the day-to-day operations and service activities of the broker dealer with direct responsibility for tasks that involve all aspects of new account setup and account maintenance. Provides subject-matter-expertise and guidance on rules that govern regulatory requirements for account types such as individual, joint, trust, retirement, business. Maintains knowledge as rules and regulations change and provides direction to the firm on process and procedure updates needed to stay in compliance. Gains a strong understanding of the functional aspects of the technology solutions used for opening new accounts and maintain accounts.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES- Supervise and lead the operations team responsible for opening new accounts and maintaining account updates.
- When required, can assist in opening accounts, making account changes.
- Principal review and approval of applications and system sign-offs.
- Ensure that the queue of incoming requests for account related items from the various business channels, are addressed in a timely matter.
- Provide guidance to ensure the firm is capturing the required information to comply with all federal and state laws related to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure firms Desktop Procedures, Policies and Procedures and Written Supervisory Procedures are current and understood by team.
- Assist in testing any changes to (internal/external) software solutions that provide operations associates the ability to open and maintain accounts.
- Conduct continuous internal examinations of the firm's policies, operational and service procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct and maintain continuous monitoring of systems and processes are working as designed.
- Drive organizational capability by building and developing a highly committed and capable team, coaching, and mentoring incumbents and attracting additional talent as needed
- Work with self-regulatory authority (FINRA) and other regulators as needed to ensure firms full compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in the Operational and Systematic Risk Committee.
- Ensure ongoing communication with affiliate partners in meeting/exceeding service level agreements, and in assessing and achieving financial goals of the company.
- Maintain close working relationships with key vendors and industry peers in an effort to foster continuous improvement in the way we serve clients.
- Work effectively with Human Resources to ensure associates are managed in a fair and consistent manner, and that training and career opportunities are available for all.
- Travel to various locations, both within our organization and externally, may be required depending on your role and responsibilities.
- Follows assigned work schedule with regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred; relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services management
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a back office and/or investment/broker dealer operations role
- Clean U4 Securities record
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS- SIE Certification
- Series 99
- Series 7
- Series 24 preferred
- If you do not already have a Securities license relevant to your role at Innovayte, you may be required to take and pass the Securities Industries Essentials exam provided by FINRA. In addition, based on your role responsibilities, you may also be required to pass additional Securities Industry exams to allow you to operate in your role and be compliant with FINRA and the SEC requirements. These licenses, when required, need to be obtained within certain specific time frames, typically 120 calendar days.
TECHNICAL SKILLSTo be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:
- Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office
- FINRA Portal
- FIS Phase 3 and iPipeline
- DTC, Fed and OCC settlement
