DirectorBehavioral Health Position SummaryResponsible for administering the overall day to day operations of the Shepherd Hill (SH) program. Ensures that appropriate policies and procedures for the program are in place, are adhered to and revised as necessary for all departments.
Responsibilities- Develops goals, objectives, plans and budgets for areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for staffing, equipment and supply acquisition, facility planning, etc.
- Recommends purchases of major operational and capital items.
- Conducts or directs analysis of proposed new programs, equipment and services.
- Chairs SH Cabinet Meetings
- Ensures that SH functions in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and the standards of accrediting agencies. Initiates corrective action when necessary.
- Selects, trains, directs, develops, evaluates and when necessary, disciplines or discharges employees.
- As a member of the administrative management group and various committees, regularly participates in development of Health Systems-wide plans, goals and objectives.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
- Develops and maintains a mix of services to maintain and expand the market for SH.
- Monitors productivity and quality indicators and investigates variations. Institutes corrective action as appropriate
- Establishes an environment of open communications with subordinates, peers and the Medical Staff.
- Assists the Medical Staff and board of Trustees in recruiting and maintaining the appropriate mix of medical staff specialties to meet the needs and goals of SH.
- Assist with construction and renovation on the Licking Memorial Hospital campus. Oversees construction and renovation on the SH campus
- Responsible for ensuring that personal performance reflects the Mission, Vision and Standards of Care.
Requirements- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business related field desired. Or a minimum of five years experience in behavioral health field and prior management responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills required to resolve internal and external issues as well as to educated departmental personnel
- Ability to work independently, prioritizes and works effectively
- LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards
