Role Overview and What You Will DoThis is a leadership role in which you will directly manage and scale a team(s) responsible for delivering our foundational building blocks of next generation warehouse management systems. We provide inventory, orchestration and data platform solutions that power our fulfillment processes. This is an unique opportunity to build new technologies that go well beyond existing industry standards.
You will partner with our product, program management stakeholders and other engineering leaders to build and deliver the roadmap of your teams. You should provide hands-on technical leadership to solve complex problems, make right architecture decisions with a balance of strategic and tactical plans. You should set up the right practices for delivering high quality software and mechanisms to keep our stakeholders updated. Finally, as we're scaling rapidly, you'll have lots of opportunities to build and grow the team via hiring and mentoring. You should be somebody who enjoys recruiting and coaching, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about delivering results.
Basic Qualifications- 10+ years of professional experience in software development/engineering
- 5+ years of engineering management experience
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design and data structures
- Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis
- Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
- Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
- Experience recruiting, hiring and managing a team
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in warehouse management systems and fulfillment technologies
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs and product strategy
- Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
- Experience influencing software engineers' best practices within your team
- Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
- Experience working backwards from the customer and delivering innovative, simple solutions
Pay & Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.
The base pay for this position ranges from $174,000/year to $299,000/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Annual bonus is 0-20% of the base salary.
