Full Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

As a Director, AI Product Owner within the Advanced Analytics Delivery, Artificial Intelligence team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our AI product portfolio. You will own the prioritization and sequencing of a diverse backlog of use cases across Commercial Banking, Wealth and Capital Markets, ensuring the team is consistently focused on the most impactful and scalable solutions for the bank. Your day-to-day will involve translating business opportunities into actionable product decisions, maintaining a dynamic roadmap, and driving the reusability of AI assets across lines of business. You'll be the primary point of contact for stakeholders, communicating both capabilities and upcoming initiatives, and partnering with leadership to report on progress and strategic allocation. This role is not about project coordination—it's about setting vision, defining success, and making the calls that empower delivery teams to execute with confidence.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You'll Succeed

  • Backlog Ownership & Prioritization – Continuously prioritize and sequencing use case backlog based on ROI, feasibility, and reusability, ensuring the team is focused on high-impact opportunities.

  • Product Requirements & Success Criteria – Translate stakeholder needs into structured product briefs and define clear success criteria for each use case.

  • Portfolio Road-mapping – Maintain an up-to-date product roadmap across all AI solutions, making it visible and actionable for leadership and team members.

  • Reusability & Asset Strategy – Identify and productize reusable components, models, and patterns to accelerate future delivery and maximize value.

  • Stakeholder Communication – Act as the external face of the AI portfolio, communicating capabilities and pipeline to various stakeholders and guiding engagement.

  • Leadership Partnership – Collaborate with the Senior Director to report on portfolio progress, ROI realization, and capacity planning for leadership.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 7+ years of experience in product management. You bring a track record of owning roadmaps and making strategic prioritization decisions in data, analytics, or AI environments.

  • You are technically fluent. You understand how AI solutions are constructed and can engage credibly with data scientists and ML engineers, even if you don’t build models yourself.

  • You look beyond the moment. You understand operations workflows. Ideally, you have deep familiarity with operations within financial services, enabling you to assess use cases for business value and AI feasibility independently. You are decisive and clear. You reduce ambiguity for your team by making informed decisions, documenting them, and moving forward efficiently.

  • You're passionate about people. You excel at stakeholder management and are comfortable presenting product strategies to senior leadership and translating feedback into actionable priorities.

  • You have a degree or diploma in Computer Science. Your educational background supports your technical and strategic expertise.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
