Full Job Description
Director of Accounting to join our Accounting & Finance team. We are looking for someone who can thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, emerging growth environment to help take the Accounting function to the next level. This role oversees the monthly close process for the sales to cash cycle, manages the accounting team, partners cross-functionally with Finance and business leaders, and supports strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence and scalable growth.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage and oversee the month-end close processes covering the entire sales-to-cash cycle for all revenue streams. This includes the review and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations and reviewing the work of others.
  • Identify areas of opportunity around the month-end close process and enhance process documentation of areas of responsibility.
  • Lead projects to drive improvements in these areas with a focus on efficiency, the use of financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Develop scalable AR processes in support of our growing B2B partnerships and develop scalable reporting and GL processes around our growing retail business.
  • Support the reporting and settlement of royalties of licensed products and agreements.
  • Consistently manage and execute the on-time completion of all month-end close responsibilities and support the quarterly earnings cycle. Maintain strict discipline over close deadlines and timely review of team deliverables.
  • Supervise, mentor, manage and develop staff, conduct performance evaluations and foster cross-functional collaboration across the company.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to review monthly results and handle ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Maintain ongoing compliance of SOX controls including the preparation and retention of all necessary documentation. Monitor appropriate execution of the control environment, including leading control walkthrough meetings..
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide required documentation and analysis for audits.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to process improvement, management reporting, technology integration, and data analytics.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
  • In depth knowledge of US GAAP
  • Current CPA
  • Big 4 Public Accounting and strong SOX 404 experience
  • 8+ years experience with a combination of public accounting and/or public company industry experience, preferably at a rapidly growing retail and e-commerce company with a focus on the sales-to-cash cycle.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to manage and develop a team, maintain a high level of excellence and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Familiarity with international accounting processes, working with multiple currencies and international consolidations.
  • IFRS experience preferred
  • NetSuite OneWorld experience required.
  • Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Strong teamwork and business partnering capabilities.
  • Forward looking thinker who can articulate the need for and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to leverage technology for efficient data gathering and analysis.
  • Experience implementing accounting systems or process automation

FIGS Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range
  • At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $170,000 and $190,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
