Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Director of Academic Initiatives plays a pivotal role within the Office of the Provost. Partners with the Vice Provosts and other senior leaders to implement high-profile, University-wide initiatives. Areas of focus include master's programs and enhancing the master's student experience, expanding access to dual-degree and accelerated academic programs, and signature undergraduate-level initiatives, in addition to new projects that the incumbent will oversee. Plays a key role in ongoing provostial efforts to develop and implement strategies to support NYU schools in instructional time planning.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Master's Degree

Preferred Education:
Doctoral Degree

Required Experience:
7+ years Relevant leadership experience, as well as experience in project managing for senior stakeholders, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to develop and sustain effective relationships in support of organizational goals. Ability to work and communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders in individual and group settings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong proficiency with spreadsheet and presentation applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. Proactive approach in order to successfully manage a diverse portfolio. Ability to translate senior leadership's vision into measurable, University-wide progress.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $145,000.00 to USD $185,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
