Full Job Description
Leidos is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Directed Energy team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a background in production control, multi-resource scheduling, and prior experience planning production programs.

Please Note: Work location is predominantly in Albuquerque, NM and Huntsville, AL. Candidate must be a resident of Albuquerque, NM or be willing to relocate to the area. If not local, must be willing to travel approximately 50% of the time to these locations, preferably two weeks in Albuquerque at a time.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating alignment of a team that plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules, and coordinates the flow of materials to meet production requirements. Duties may include scheduling equipment and personnel; confirming material supply and demands; preparing work orders and instructions, and/or purchase requests for the production of components or parts.
  • Collaborate with production control & planning teams, engineers & technicians, program management, and other stakeholders to achieve a cohesive alignment across functional areas
  • Support Program Managers with day-to-day execution of government contracts
  • Ensure configuration management documentation remains current
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Assist with earned value reporting
  • Coordinate project schedules across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality assurance, and contracts
  • Ensure ISO compliance
  • Track project milestones and critical path activities within a master production schedule
  • Identify project risks and assist with mitigation planning
  • Manage and/or coordinate order demand within Costpoint (Inventory Reservations CMR, or MRP)
  • Manage/coordinate requisition team for raw material and outsource processing
  • Conduct status meetings with internal customers
  • Perform capacity analysis and interface with program management and various stakeholder influencers
  • Maintain and report on performance metrics such as On-time Delivery, Requisition Processing Delays, etc.
  • Work continually to drive improvements to on time delivery
  • Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement, lean manufacturing principles, and superior quality mindset within the team


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field with 4+ years of production control leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (DoD preferred). An additional 4 relevant years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • A strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and MRP programs
  • Prior experience with multi-resource scheduling, technician & production staff alignment/coaching, work instruction development, & coordination with project control teams
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Leader Standard Work, Etc.)
  • Experience using root cause analysis techniques (Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to lead meetings with large groups of people

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of raw materials, hardware, and finishing procedures to produce machined parts or other fabrication methods
  • Adaptable in fast-paced environments
  • Customer and quality first attitude
  • Ability to plan and report against program control accounts for resources and/or products
  • Ability to work with division and corporate Leadership to contribute to Strategic Planning and long-term vision for the department
  • Commodity and strategic buyer planning experience is desired
  • Understanding material and operational traceability requirements
  • Experience using programs such as Solumina MES
  • Familiarity with AS9100 for Defense Manufacturing
