What You'll Do
You will treat this hotel as if it were your own home - one with complex commercial mechanical systems, a rich physical footprint, and hundreds of associates and guests depending on everything working seamlessly. Your highest priority is a proactive one: developing and executing a rigorous preventative maintenance program that keeps the property running before problems arise. When they do arise, you resolve them decisively.
Your day-to-day and long-term responsibilities include:
Engineering & Facilities
• Oversee all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the hotel and its mixed-use building infrastructure, including commercial-grade HVAC systems serving both hotel and adjacent commercial and residential spaces
• Administer and optimize the Verdant energy management system, monitoring smart thermostat performance, occupancy-based HVAC adjustments, and energy consumption analytics across all guestrooms and shared spaces to maximize efficiency without compromising guest comfort
• Manage work orders, preventative maintenance scheduling, and asset tracking through ALICE Maintenance, ensuring real-time visibility, accountability, and cross-departmental communication across the full operations platform
• Lead capital planning, property rehabilitation projects, and long-term asset lifecycle management, from scope development through completion
• Maintain all guest-facing and back-of-house technology systems, including in-room audio/visual, high-speed internet infrastructure, and building automation controls
• Ensure all chemicals, hazardous materials, and specialized equipment are stored, handled, and disposed of in full compliance with applicable regulations
• Partner with department heads across the hotel to anticipate maintenance needs, respond to internal requests in a timely manner, and communicate project status clearly and proactively
Security
• Direct the security function for the hotel and relevant common areas of the broader complex, including evening, overnight, and weekend coverage
• Establish and maintain life safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and incident documentation practices
• Serve as a key liaison with building management, local authorities, and PM Hotel Group risk and safety partners as needed
• Respond to and lead the hotel's response in security-related emergencies, ensuring the safety of guests, associates, and the property
Leadership
• Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate all Engineering and Security team members
• Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and pride of ownership within your department
• Participate in hotel leadership meetings and contribute to broader operational and strategic planning
Where You've Been
You bring at least five years of progressive engineering or facilities leadership experience, with a strong preference for hotel or mixed-use commercial environments. You have working knowledge across multiple trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and building automation systems. Experience with energy management platforms, hotel operations technology, and integrated security systems is a meaningful advantage. You lead teams with clarity and calm, and you know how to communicate technical realities to non-technical stakeholders.
