Job DescriptionThis role leads the New Product Introduction teams and factories for Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack (CEMA) Operations. The NPI leader works hand in hand with Factory Leadership, Engineering Technology Development teams (FAST Labs, Engineering IRADs), Engineering Hardware Capability Groups (Producibility Engineering), Technical Directors, and Business Area Chief Engineers on emerging programs to ensure product manufacturability.
As the New Product Introduction Director, you will be responsible for the Pilot Line for CEMA Factories in Austin, TX and Nashua, NH. These teams consist of assembly technicians and engineers who develop manufacturing processes for new hardware transitioning from development to production.
Your will be responsible for understanding the strategy and objectives of the Operations function and the CEMA business area and ensuring that new products are aligned with those strategies and roadmaps. You will be responsible for aligning our Engineering Technology Roadmaps to our Operations Technology roadmap to ensure we are ready to manufacture new products. Additionally your team will execute many Design of Experiments (DOEs) for new or improved manufacturing techniques as well as implement Automation strategies.
As the team leader you will provide technical and analytical guidance to the NPI team and to the program teams with transitioning products. Active participation in technical reviews, architecture reviews, and pursuit concepts are required. You will champion and grow our Transition to Production (TTP) best practices and processes, collaborating across functions and business areas. Your will work closely with the Electronic Systems Pre-Production Global Process Owner to ensure alignment to the sector's TTP policies and strategies.
Required Skills and Education- 10+ years of Manufacturing or Engineering experience including experience transitioning products to production. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar.
- Must demonstrate the ability to lead a portfolio of teams with mixed skills: program facing, factory facing, technical engineers and factory technicians.
- Ability to translate program performance & growth, modernization & sustainment into a comprehensive 5-10-20 year strategy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in developing and presenting executive presentations to senior leaders.
Preferred Skills and Education- Masters degree in Engineering, or Business.
- Active secret clearance with special access clearances.
