Description & RequirementsThe Opportunity:Reporting to the SVP Sales, NA Containerboard & Kraft, The Director of Paper Sales, Latin America will lead the commercial function for the Latin American open market export sales, based in Atlanta, GA.
As part of the North America Paper Sales Team, this role will be responsible for designing and implementing the sales strategy for exports to the Latin America region, partnering closely with both the North America and LATAM regional leadership, commercial and operational teams.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:- Develop the overall go-to market strategy for the LATAM Region, including unique strategies based on customers, programs, and end users.
- Develop a detailed understanding of competitors, customers, and other key market factors to help inform strategic decisions.
- Align and lead the region to deliver sustainable growth, increased revenue and margins, and improved customer satisfaction.
- Support the integrated business planning process, develop annual sales and expense budgets, as well as quarterly and monthly sales forecasts for the region.
- Implement customer experience strategy and initiatives to enhance key business relationships.
- Formulate and deploy commercial best practices within the team, incorporating enterprise strategies and initiatives to drive profitability.
- Identify and implement appropriate margin assessment frameworks and value add margin improvement priorities leveraging existing commercial excellence framework and current CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, etc.).
- Work collaboratively across the organization, especially with the Supply Chain team, Operations team, and peer sales leaders to support consistency of approach and communication to the customer. Partner with Pricing, Innovation, Sustainability, and other teams as necessary to drive business priorities and key projects.
- Actively develop individual talent and expand team capabilities to elevate the practices of the commercial team.
What you need to Succeed:- A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required; an MBA is preferred.
- 7+ yrs progressive commercial management experience; a mix of sales, marketing, and/or product management is preferred.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this role.
- Demonstrated experience in building, developing, and motivating a high-performance sales and commercial team including experience with organizational design/development,
- Strong business and financial acumen required; understand and utilize metrics/measurement.
- Executive-level presence with exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiating skills, and an emphasis on proactive, crisp, and credible communications. An effective communicator with all constituencies.
