Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer with Siemens Energy's Blades and Vanes team, you implement, drive, and own Automation & Digitalization initiatives within our investment casting facility. You work hands-on to modernize manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, quality, and data visibility across operations. A key part of your role is leading manufacturing automation, including advanced robotics, automated shell lines, and production automation. You partner closely with operations, engineering, and digital teams to take ideas from concept through implementation. Each day, you help turn smart manufacturing solutions into real, measurable improvements on the shop floor.

How You'll Make an Impact

Automation & Manufacturing Systems
  • Design and optimize automation solutions for investment casting processes (wax, shell, melt, pour, finishing, inspection).
  • Enhance PLC, HMI, SCADA systems for improved reliability and automation throughout.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and waste through automation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering on controls standards and system upgrades.
Digitalization & Smart Manufacturing
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives, data collection, digital work instructions, and process dashboards.
  • Develop data pipelines from shop-floor systems to analytics platforms.
  • Support Industry 4.0 concepts like connected equipment and predictive insights.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Partner with operations, quality, IT, and engineering to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Provide technical leadership for pilot projects and full-scale deployments and train staff in new systems and digital tools.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Automation, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or similar).
  • 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing automation and/or digitalization or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments (foundry or heavy industrial preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Opex frameworks.
  • This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI, or similar analytics tools.
  • Project management experience in automation or digital initiatives.
