Digital Manufacturing Leader
Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for the digital manufacturing strategy execution at the site level, in alignment with the KCNA Digital Strategy, as well as effectively leading business objectives for the site. The incumbent will work with project teams compiled of employees from multiple disciplines. This role will have interaction across sites and opportunities for involvement in broad-based business projects. Objectives typically are focused at the mill level for safety, quality, continuous improvement, productivity, cost, internal control, asset management, and team capability development, but should drive standardization across KCNA. Incumbent reports to the site Continuous Improvement Leader.
The purpose of this role is to own the execution of the KCNA Digital Manufacturing strategy for the plant; focused on equipment, capability building, and value delivery. He/she will be a technical expert and support the advancement of major digital systems, processes, and capabilities to achieve a highly connected, operationally efficient, and effective manufacturing environment across the plant. Incumbent will also champion and support all other mobile digital applications used by the site (i.e. Poka, Seeq, Schedule Pro, etc.), in alignment with other Kimberly-Clark North America facilities. This role is viewed as an expert in complex application environments, encompassing both business process understanding and technical expertise. Influential communication, growth mindset, and the ability to strategically navigate at multiple levels of a diverse plant organization are important in this role. Key stakeholders include, but not limited to, KCNA Supply Chain Digital teams, Plant leaders, DTS, Engineering and Mill teams.

In this role, you will:- Be the key strategy owner for implementing digital programs for sustaining the long-term growth of the KC digital manufacturing strategy.
- Develop, advise, and recommend long-term resolutions to systemic manufacturing problems.
- Technical expert for major digital systems, processes and capabilities (i.e. SMOM, EWM, etc.)
- Champion & support mobile digital applications (i.e. Poka, SchedulePro)
- Drive continuous improvement and change management within their system(s) of responsibility to drive efficiency and effectiveness improvements across the organization.
- Analyze the data structure, calculations, and workflow within their major plant systems to leverage, integrate, and optimize systems and people across the supply chain.
- Provide analytical support for the data contained within and generated by the respective manufacturing system.
- Sustain and integrate data historian systems, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and QMS (Quality Management System).
- Site lead for deployment of SMOM (Smart Manufacturing Operations Management) system, ensuring success by providing technical expertise and effective facilitation of the process.
- Develop and maintain data flows into SMOM (manual entries, PLC inputs, etc.) for generating information (reports, dashboards etc.)
- Support development and implementation of plans/programs for sustaining the long-term growth of SMOM to meet sector objectives.
- Provide technical and operational expertise to achieve quick and timely solutions to SMOM related problems within all site asset team areas.
- Collaborate and/or solve complex manufacturing issues and provide digital solutions within the facility.
- Active in regional communities of practice for best practice sharing of digital technologies, concepts, and tools.
- Maintain all relevant system documentation, ensuring it's updated, accessible, and compliant with sector standards.
- Communicate (through monthly reports, outstanding project lists, task status summaries, etc.) all relevant MES issues to provide information to key stakeholders.
- Drive improved visibility of data for faster decision making for asset teams, engineers, and site leadership through all digital platforms.
- Build organizational capability in digital manufacturing through key user training and support. • Coaches and mentors manufacturing personnel
- Have working knowledge of infrastructure, hardware components, Servers, Networking, Firewalls. Experience of scanner / handheld & labelling technologies
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, ITS or related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience with 3+ with systems support and development
- Exposure to Lean and demonstrated examples of application of LEAN principles.
- Possess or demonstrate ability to learn statistical/analytical skills: Regression, Statistical Process Control, Financial Analysis, Analytical Modeling, and Industrial Process Analytics.
- Direct experience with large, interconnected software systems such as SAP ERP, MES, PLM, etc
- Demonstrated ability to lead the execution of a global, regional, or functional strategic initiative.
- High interpersonal and communications skills to motivate & lead a diverse group of team members.
- Ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic and developing business environment.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization.
