Full Job Description
The Digital Learning & Development Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Learning and Development digital learning ecosystem. This role oversees the learning technology landscape, including the Learning Management System (LMS), e-learning development and instructional design, digital content strategy, vendor partnerships, learning analytics, reporting, and the evaluation of emerging technologies. The ideal candidate combines expertise in learning and development with technology, creativity, and innovative learning practices to design engaging, accessible, and scalable learning experiences that drive employee growth and business performance.

This position leads the design and development of learner-centered digital learning solutions by applying instructional design best practices, adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and modern learning methodologies. Responsibilities include creating e-learning, microlearning, video-based learning, assessments, and interactive learning experiences that translate business and technical concepts into practical, impactful development opportunities. The Digital Learning & Development Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for learning technology and vendor partnerships, ensuring solutions align with business needs and deliver measurable value. Through analytics and reporting, this role evaluates learning effectiveness, monitors engagement and adoption, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides actionable insights that inform future learning strategies. Working closely with Learning & Development team members, business leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners, this individual will identify learning needs, recommend scalable solutions, and lead digital learning initiatives from concept through implementation and evaluation. The successful candidate will champion innovation, help shape the future of learning at Michels, and stay current on trends in instructional design, learning technology, artificial intelligence, and the evolving talent development landscape. Strong relationship-building skills, a consultative mindset, and the ability to create practical learning experiences that drive behavior change are essential for success. What It Takes:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Leadership Development, Instructional Design, E-Learning, Learning Technology, or a related area (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Proven experience designing and developing end-to-end digital learning solutions
• Experience managing an LMS and digital learning ecosystem
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and talent development practices
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including setting priorities, coaching others, and driving accountability
• Experience managing learning vendors and external partners
• Experience leading enterprise-level learning technology initiatives
• Experience developing learning dashboards, analytics, and reporting preferred
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage audiences at all levels
• Excellent project management, analytical, and relationship-building capabilities
• Proficiency with Articulate 360, including Storyline 360 and Rise is required
• Workday LMS experience preferred
• Synthesia experience preferred
