Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Digital Integration Solutions Discipline Lead to drive innovative system integration strategies across diverse sectors, including airports, ports, rail, and transit systems. This role involves designing and implementing comprehensive integration strategies, developing robust system testing and validation plans to ensure seamless operation of key systems such as building management, life safety, security, lighting, power substations, ventilation, people movers, and water and wastewater management. The Discipline Lead will proactively address integration challenges, support commissioning efforts, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks. Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors is essential to ensure compatibility, secure integration, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. The candidate will engage closely with testing and commissioning teams, interface with systems design teams, monitor design progress, and coordinate procurement, installation, and testing activities. Additionally, the role will support transit-related pursuits, contribute to systems integration initiatives, and build a team to drive revenue and deliver services across Mobility and other Global Business Areas.
Role accountabilities:The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, employing systems engineering processes to deliver successful project outcomes, which encompass requirements management, interface management, validation and verification, configuration management, and progressive assurance. The role involves leading teams responsible for the design, procurement, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and commissioning of rail rapid transit systems. Additionally, it requires overseeing the integration and interface of these systems with civil structures, elevated guideways, tunnels, stations, OCS, lighting, communications, power stations, O&M facilities, and existing rail rapid transit systems in revenue operation. Ensuring compliance with system lifecycle processes as defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 is critical, and the position demands high competency in engineering, people management, and client relationship management skills.
The role involves making proposals for improvements or adjustments to project processes or software and consulting with relevant project or owner's team members to optimize delivery outcomes swiftly. A thorough understanding of relevant provincial, national, and international codes, standards, and regulations is essential. Operating with little supervision, the role involves developing a team and collaborating with vendors, contractors, owner's engineers, or project managers to ensure system integration through a systematic methodology to validate interfaces of each system and subsystem for safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable operation. Developing critical review methodologies to ensure each subsystem functions correctly and consistently within the larger system is necessary, as is reviewing QA/QC of each system and subsystem to validate compliance with design specifications and quality requirements.
Furthermore, the role involves informing and advising involved parties about non-conformances and mitigation options, engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and providing guidance and training for project teams throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, and operations startup stages. Effective resource organization and usage are vital to completing tasks while considering cost, quality, safety, security, and environmental impact. The role also provides advisory services to clients, inputs for integration effort budgets, and schedule estimates to oversee technical resources for projects of various sizes. Additionally, the position includes performing other duties as directed by your manager or Arcadis, and ensuring familiarity and compliance with Health and Safety regulations, guidelines, and stewardship commitments.
