Full Job Description
Digital Adoption & Change Communications Lead

Organization and Position Overview

Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. Combining research and manufacturing in a single location for the first time, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact.

During the Project Delivery and Startup phases of the project (2025 to 2028), roles will be fluid and dynamic as we endeavor to support the project delivery, build a new organization, and develop and implement the necessary systems and business processes required to support GMP operations. This will require significant collaboration, creativity, and resilience as the Lilly Medicine Foundry moves from design, to startup, and to steady-state operations.

The Digital Adoption & Change Communications Lead is the Foundry's go-to leader for the people side of technology and process change. The role owns two connected capabilities: driving user adoption of new digital tools, platforms, and ways of working, and building the change communications craft that turns technical rollouts into stories, campaigns, and behaviors people actually pick up. A third, growing capability is coaching and facilitating structured innovation sessions across the site. We are looking for someone strong in adoption and communications who is genuinely curious about facilitation and eager to develop that skill set with support.

Responsibilities

Digital Adoption & Change Communications
  • Design and lead adoption strategies for new digital platforms, tools, and enterprise technology rollouts across the Foundry, from readiness through sustained use.
  • Build and run internal communications campaigns that drive user adoption, applying audience segmentation, message testing, storytelling, and internal brand-building to Foundry audiences.
  • Translate complex technical rollouts into clear, human-centered messages that shift behavior across leaders, champions, and end users.
  • Partner with the Digital Innovation team, site communications, and program owners so every major rollout has a consistent adoption narrative and a champion voice behind it.
  • Measure adoption, engagement, and sentiment (not just activity), and adjust campaigns based on what is landing.
  • Use early wins, testimonial content, and champion stories to build social proof and sustain momentum after go-live.

Change Management
  • Build and mature the Foundry-wide change management approach as the site scales through startup.
  • Develop change management methodology, toolkits, and templates applied consistently across teams and functions.
  • Conduct stakeholder analyses, readiness assessments, and impact analyses for major initiatives; identify adoption barriers early and design interventions.
  • Support leaders as they move their teams through digital adoption and other operational changes.
  • Build and maintain a network of change champions across the site.
  • Partner with organizational design and change management PMO efforts as they intersect with Foundry priorities.

Innovation Facilitation (Growing Capability)
  • Support and, over time, lead facilitated workshops that help teams work through business and process challenges.
  • Learn and apply structured problem-solving frameworks (such as SWOT, Six Thinking Hats, four-box analysis, design thinking) with coaching and support from Digital Innovation leaders.
  • Help teams challenge constrained or siloed thinking, particularly in a regulated environment where default patterns can limit options.
  • Share what is working across the Foundry so techniques and wins become visible and repeatable.

The Foundry will invest in developing this capability through mentoring, training, and hands-on partnership with experienced facilitators. Prior facilitation experience is welcome but not required.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in change management, change communications, digital adoption, technology adoption, internal communications, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience using communications or marketing techniques to drive user adoption of technology or new ways of working

Additional Skills / Preferences
  • Change management certification (ADKAR, Prosci, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience leading change communications for enterprise technology rollouts (MES, CRM, ERP, analytics platforms, AI tools) is a plus.
  • Track record of building and sustaining networks of change champions.
  • Comfort with adoption analytics: measuring engagement, sentiment, and usage as leading indicators.
  • Curiosity about structured innovation and facilitation methods; willingness to develop as a workshop facilitator with coaching support.
  • Ability to read group dynamics in real time and adjust communications approach to keep diverse audiences engaged.
  • Ability to challenge constrained thinking, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Experience with assessments such as DISC, Insights, or Herrmann Brain is a plus.
  • Broad, cross-industry perspective is valued; pharma, healthcare, or regulated-industry background is a nice to have but not required.
  • Comfort operating in an ambiguous startup environment and shaping the role as the organization's needs evolve

Other Information
  • Initial location at Parkwood West, Indianapolis.
  • Permanent location at the Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana.
  • Flexibility to work from Indianapolis or other Lilly sites may be required through 2025 and 2026.
  • 0-10% travel required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$129,000 - $189,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Lilly reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion and Lilly's compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the details of any promotion or transfer of Lilly employees.
