Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred, or high school diploma/GED with journeyman status as a Die Maker or equivalent die experience in stamping.
  • Ability to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  • 8 years of experience in die construction, tryout, or maintenance in stamping environments is acceptable with a high school diploma/GED.
  • Experience in root cause analysis is preferred to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Supervisory experience in a union setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Full Job Description
The Die Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct workforce along with maintenance, Die tryout and repair of major stamping dies including sub assembly, progressive and/or blanking dies. The Die Maintenance Supervisor will supervise UAW skilled trade employees and assist in team building. The role will manage collaborative working relationships with all levels of management and union, resolve problems using root cause analysis and plan and prioritize work to support efficient manufacturing initiatives.

Basic Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma / GED and journeyman status Die Maker or high school diploma / GED and 8 years die experience in a stamping environment, with die construction, tryout and/or maintenance work activities
  • Ability to work any shift and work overtime as required

Preferred Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Hemmer experience a plus
  • Root cause analysis skills
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment
