Full Job Description
Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to help architect, secure, and scale the cloud infrastructure supporting our AI-powered operational intelligence platform. This role sits at the intersection of secure cloud engineering, CI/CD pipeline ownership, and platform reliability, as the program scales across an increasing number of government and commercial contracts.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and AWS GovCloud, has built and operated production-grade CI/CD pipelines, and brings a security-first mindset to infrastructure and deployment decisions. This position is ideal for an engineer who wants full ownership of infrastructure and delivery pipelines, from environment provisioning through secure production deployment, rather than a narrow slice of the stack.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Location

Remote / Hybrid (US Domestic)

Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance preferred

Essential Role and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure in AWS and AWS GovCloud
  • Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, including build, test, and deployment automation
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage environments consistently and repeatably
  • Apply secure-by-design practices across infrastructure, pipelines, and deployment processes
  • Monitor platform health, availability, and performance, and respond to incidents as they arise
  • Manage secrets, credentials, and certificate lifecycle across environments, including rotation and revocation
  • Support compliance initiatives including secure architecture reviews, ATO readiness, and security hardening activities
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure infrastructure scales with platform and contract growth
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning, backup strategy, and continuity procedures
  • Document infrastructure, pipelines, and operational runbooks for the engineering team

What You'll Work On

  • Secure AWS and AWS GovCloud infrastructure
  • CI/CD pipeline ownership and modernization
  • Secrets, credential, and certificate lifecycle management
  • Compliance and ATO readiness activities
  • Platform reliability as the program scales across contracts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and AWS GovCloud deployments and secure cloud architectures
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of secure software development and infrastructure practices
  • Experience managing secrets, credentials, and certificate lifecycle in production environments
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting ATO, RMF, FedRAMP, IL4/IL5, or related compliance efforts
  • Knowledge of secure enclave architectures and air-gapped deployment models
  • Experience with observability tooling (metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing)
  • Background supporting disaster recovery, backup, and continuity planning
  • Active or previously held U.S. Government security clearance
  • Experience supporting DoD, federal, or national security customers

Desired Traits

  • Builder mindset with strong ownership and execution skills
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving technical environments
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Security-conscious by default, not as an afterthought
  • Ability to balance delivery speed with operational reliability and security
