Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a
Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support a company focused on federal modernization, cloud transformation, and mission-critical technology initiatives.
This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL.The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud-based deployment solutions supporting applications across AWS and on-premises environments. This is an opportunity to play a key technical role in modernizing critical government systems by integrating automation, security, and reliable software delivery practices supporting high-impact national missions.
Responsibilities for the Senior DevSecOps Engineer include:- Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines that automate application builds, testing, security validation, artifact management, and deployments across cloud and on-premises environments
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies to automate environment provisioning, configuration, and deployment workflows
- Integrate security controls, vulnerability scanning, code-quality checks, monitoring, and compliance validation throughout the software delivery lifecycle
- Partner with software, cloud, QA, data, and product teams to troubleshoot deployment issues, improve environment stability, and support technical planning and release activities
- Monitor and optimize pipeline performance while maintaining documentation for automation processes, IaC templates, deployment procedures, and release readiness
Required Qualifications for the Senior DevSecOps Engineer include:- 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD engineering, cloud automation, or related infrastructure environments, with a Bachelor's degree required
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, cloud platforms, secure development practices, and automation technologies, including Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications for the Senior DevSecOps Engineer include:- Hands-on experience supporting AWS cloud environments, microservices, serverless architectures, or distributed systems
- Experience incorporating automated security and vulnerability scanning tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, Anchore, Twistlock, Nessus, or similar technologies into delivery pipelines
- Experience developing automation scripts using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages
- Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or other national security programs
Compensation for the Senior DevSecOps Engineer includes:Salary Range: Competitive salary depending on experience
