OverviewDecisionPoint seeks a
DevSecOps Engineer (Data & Integration) to support automation, security, and monitoring of data integration and analytics platforms within a secure, cloud-hosted Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise environment. The engineer will design, implement, and maintain
CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, and infrastructure automation supporting critical data ingestion, transformation, and exchange services.
This position ensures seamless deployment, secure data flow, and operational stability across AWS GovCloud IL4/IL5 environments, applying Zero Trust principles and continuous compliance monitoring throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
This position is fully remote.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe
DevSecOps Engineer (Data & Integration) will:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes for data integration and analytics components.
- Support secure and efficient data pipeline deployment across AWS GovCloud and DoD environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to manage and provision infrastructure at scale.
- Build, configure, and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for data ingestion, transformation, and API services.
- Integrate security scanning and compliance validation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as SonarQube, Twistlock, or Anchore.
- Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and security teams to ensure DevSecOps best practices are applied across integration workflows.
- Support continuous integration testing for data migration, transformation, and interoperability validation.
- Maintain configuration baselines and deployment artifacts in compliance with DoD RMF and STIG standards.
- Automate backup, recovery, and failover procedures to ensure mission resilience and data availability.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for deployment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for CI/CD pipelines, IaC templates, and operational runbooks.
- Contribute to Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) activities and DevSecOps maturity assessments.
QualificationsClearance Requirement:- Must hold an active Secret clearance.
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Experience: - Minimum 5 years of experience supporting DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, or data integration environments.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure in federal or defense cloud environments.
- Demonstrated success deploying and maintaining secure, containerized applications and data services.
Technical Knowledge: - Proficiency with AWS GovCloud, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC automation frameworks.
- Experience with log management and monitoring using CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Prometheus.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles, Zero Trust architecture, and RMF/STIG security compliance.
- Familiarity with data engineering workflows, including ETL, API integration, and data synchronization.
- Knowledge of networking, security groups, IAM roles, and encryption mechanisms within DoD or FedRAMP cloud environments.
Certifications (Preferred): - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or Associate.
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Docker Certified Associate (DCA).
