Full Job Description
DevOps Project Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of a complex DevOps initiative, from mobilization and scope definition through implementation, rollout, stabilization, and handoff.
• Create and maintain an integrated delivery plan covering squad deliverables, cross-team dependencies, milestones, environments, testing, approvals, communications, rollout activities, and operational readiness.
• Coordinate delivery across one or more DevOps squads and the infrastructure, cloud, security, ServiceNow, application, data, platform, quality-engineering, and support teams required to complete the work.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Technical Leads, architects, engineers, Quality Engineers, security partners, and business or technology stakeholders to clarify outcomes, responsibilities, sequencing, and acceptance criteria.
• Establish clear governance, meeting cadence, decision paths, delivery controls, and escalation mechanisms appropriate to the initiative.
• Manage scope, schedule, resources, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, decisions, and changes, ensuring that ownership and target dates remain explicit.
• Drive action closure and proactively resolve delivery gaps, conflicting priorities, resource constraints, access or environment blockers, data-quality concerns, and integration dependencies.
• Coordinate test planning, user acceptance, production-readiness reviews, implementation activities, post-implementation validation, and evidence or sign-off requirements.
• Prepare concise, decision-focused status reporting for program and DevOps leadership, including accomplishments, upcoming milestones, forecast, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions required, and recovery actions.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications, readiness activities, demonstrations, information sessions, support planning, and adoption activities where required.
• Ensure deli verables, processes, decisions, and operational ownership are documented and transitioned to the appropriate teams.
• Apply lessons learned and continuous-improvement practices to strengthen delivery predictability and reduce manual effort or recurring operational risk.
What you need to succeed
• Strong project-management experience delivering complex technology initiatives involving multiple squads, platforms, and enterprise partner teams.
• Demonstrated experience working on DevOps, software-delivery, developer-platform, CI/CD, security-control, source-code-management, or engineering-enablement initiatives.
• Practical understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and the relationship between source repositories, build pipelines, security scanning, deployment orchestration, environments, approvals, and production support.
• Ability to build integrated plans, identify the true critical path, manage interdependent deliverables, and hold multiple teams accountable for commitments.
• Excellent risk, issue, dependency, change, and stakeholder management, with sound judgment about when to resolve, escalate, or seek a decision.
• Confidence working with senior leaders and technical specialists, with the ability to translate technical delivery detail into clear business impact and decision points.
• Excellent facilitation, written communication, executive reporting, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment where delivery depends on teams that may not report directly to the Project Manager.
• Self-directed, pragmatic, outcome-focused, and comfortable bringing structure to ambiguous or evolving work.
Required experience
• Experience with standard DevOps tools, practices, and the Enterprise Pipeline is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of tools or platforms such as Bitbucket or GitHub, Jenkins, CDD, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Checkmarx One, Snyk, Kosli, Grafana, Tableau, cloud platforms, and infrastructure or deployment technologies.
• Experience coordinating security-control implementation, vulnerability-management workflows, exception processes, compliance evidence, release gating, or production-readiness activities.
• Experience with application inventories, application portfolio identifiers, repository metadata, data reconciliation, database updates, dashboards, ETL processes, or data-quality remediation.
• Experience supporting releases across Dev, Stage, and Production environments and coordinating technical testing, business validation, implementation, and post-implementation verification.
• Experience with Jira and/or Planview AgilePlace.
• Project-management certification or formal Agile delivery training is an asset, but demonstrated delivery experience is more important than certification alone.
