POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer to architect and operate a scalable internal developer platform (IDP) for a federal IT program. This role drives platform reliability, developer experience, and operational consistency across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, leading a team responsible for the full platform lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Architect and operate a centralized developer platform enabling self-service infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and observability
  • Design and maintain Kubernetes-based workload orchestration environments across hybrid cloud (on-prem + GovCloud)
  • Build and manage CI/CD toolchains (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton) supporting multiple application teams
  • Implement observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack) and establish SLIs, SLOs, and alerting standards
  • Lead platform onboarding for development teams; define and enforce platform engineering standards and runbooks
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to embed policy controls and audit logging within the platform
  • Capacity plan and optimize infrastructure spend across cloud services; manage platform roadmap and sprint planning

  • 8+ years of IT engineering experience with 3+ years focused on platform or infrastructure engineering
  • Expert-level Kubernetes administration; experience with OpenShift or Rancher preferred

Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust background investigation (MBI or HBI). U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
