Full Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with 14+ years of experience to support DevOps automation, middleware infrastructure, WebLogic, and Azure Kubernetes Services. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience with WebLogic, DevOps automation, Azure, and Kubernetes, along with strong troubleshooting, scripting, CI/CD, cloud, security, and production support capabilities. Key Responsibilities • Serve as an individual contributor supporting DevOps and middleware infrastructure for customer-facing applications. • Design, implement, automate, and support middleware infrastructure across monolithic and modern application environments. • Develop infrastructure automation solutions with a focus on scalability, security, performance, and reliability. • Own infrastructure solutions from design and implementation through deployment, production support, monitoring, and capacity management. • Develop and maintain automation using Shell, Perl, Python, and other scripting languages. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipeline changes and deployment automation. • Maintain technical documentation, README files, project status information, and release handover documentation. • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, Test Automation, and other teams to define and prioritize middleware solutions. • Estimate technical effort, identify risks, and communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders. • Implement infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting, performance management, capacity management, and KPI instrumentation. • Perform impact assessments for application and infrastructure upgrades, patching, migrations, and hot fixes. • Plan, coordinate, and execute deployments across regression, performance, production, and post-production environments. • Support engineers during evaluation, design, analysis, development, and deployment activities. • Troubleshoot common build and deployment issues, including memory constraints, disk capacity, missing libraries, and security certificate issues. • Troubleshoot critical production and non-production application and infrastructure issues and perform detailed root cause analysis. • Participate in on-call rotations and knowledge-sharing activities. Required Qualifications • 14+ years of overall IT/DevOps/Middleware experience. • Recent hands-on experience with WebLogic and DevOps automation. • Recent hands-on experience with Azure and Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). • Strong experience with Unix/Linux administration and application support. • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, load balancers, DMZ, firewalls, whitelisting, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, SOAP, and REST APIs. • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. • Strong scripting experience with Shell, Perl, Python, PowerShell, JSON, and YAML. • Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Maven. • Experience implementing Canary and Blue/Green deployment strategies for highly available applications. • Strong middleware experience with WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, proxy configuration, and security patching. • Experience with Docker or Podman and Kubernetes for application deployment. • Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud services, including load balancing, DNS, virtual machines, storage, and networking components. • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, and Route 53 is preferred. • Knowledge of security technologies including Okta, SiteMinder, LDAP, Active Directory, Entra ID, RBAC, SSL certificates, OpenSSL, Keytool, CSR, and MFA. • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Nagios, Dynatrace, or Grafana. • Strong production and non-production troubleshooting skills with in-depth root cause analysis experience. • Knowledge of Agile, Kanban, and Scrum methodologies. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field, or equivalent work experience. • Experience designing, developing, configuring, and deploying secure applications and products. • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. • Ability to communicate technical concepts and alternatives effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation supporting testing, installation, operations, deployment, and maintenance. • Experience analyzing technology environments and developing remediation plans for hardware and software approaching End of Life or End of Support. • Strong understanding of technology trends, design patterns, and modern engineering practices. • Ability to follow organizational processes, Scrum practices, and required technical and design documentation standards. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with enterprise-scale DevOps automation and middleware modernization initiatives. • Strong experience supporting WebLogic environments in large enterprise organizations. • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Services and cloud-native application deployments. • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automated environment provisioning. • Experience supporting highly available and production-critical applications. • Strong continuous-learning and process-improvement mindset.
