What You Will Do As a Development Review Coordinator II in the Department of Planning & Land Management, you will support development within Carroll County by coordinating the development review process and managing land development proposals. We are looking for an experienced professional who can present complex project information in a variety of settings. You will conduct field inspections and present comprehensive reports on your assigned projects.
Essential Duties - Review complex major subdivisions, minor subdivisions, and site plans against applicable regulations and guidelines. Communicate design issues to developers, engineers, attorneys, and citizen advocates.
- Provide complex technical project review for assigned projects. Facilitate the interagency review process and manage citizen issues.
- Present assigned development projects to the Carroll County Planning & Zoning Commission. Discuss interagency review issues and citizen concerns.
- Present complex project reviews and staff report findings at the monthly Technical Review Committee meeting for assigned projects.
- Meet with developers, engineers, attorneys, and citizens to review and/or discuss development plans. Provide technical insight regarding site design and layout.
- Conduct field inspections at development sites.
- Foster collaboration and provide learning opportunities. Facilitate a supportive work environment.
- Independently ensure all work is complete and timely to achieve department goals. Review work of others to ensure that organizational standards are met.

You Might Be a Good Fit If Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Four or more years of related experience
- A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications Additional Information - Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
- May be required to work outside of standard hours.
- Must meet Carroll County Risk Management driver eligibility requirements
Working Conditions - Occasional physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
