Responsibilities

Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE

The Development Manager oversees day to day project execution including all permitting and environmental filings, supervision of project development timelines, and management of a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Responsible for the development of utility scale solar assets; including coordinating a team of professionals, both internal and external, in various company functional areas during the development phase (real estate, environmental and permitting).
  • Provide technical, economic and risk analysis of solar development assets and potential project acquisitions.
  • Interact with local zoning and permitting boards, taxing jurisdictions as well as state and federal permitting agencies.
  • Relationship management of key stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle; including landowners, permitting agencies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide project development feedback to Business Development team to assist in responding to RFPs.
  • Extract and manage all mitigation measures obtained from key permitting and environmental documents.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, business, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in renewables, environmental, permitting, real estate development, or related industry.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Ability to effectively lead early-stage development projects.
    • Ability to translate, interpret, and make key decisions based on complex development contracts.
    • Functional knowledge of power markets and interconnection processes.
    • Foundational contract negotiation skills and best practices.
    • Basic skill in persuading and influencing others.
  • Travel: Up to 30%
