In this role, you will lead development and testing efforts that advance mechanical products and systems supporting aerospace and defense programs. You will plan and execute verification testing, develop prototype hardware, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and support customer and business development goals by ensuring robust, thoroughly validated solutions throughout the development cycle.
Responsibilities- Leads planning and execution of testing activities required for mechanical system development.
- Supports client objectives by contributing to on-time, on-budget delivery of high-quality engineering work.
- Develops and executes test designs, procedures, plans, and reports, including data collection and reduction.
- Supports business development by contributing to project definition, proposal presentations, and customer engagement.
- Leads proposal efforts by working with clients and internal technical teams to define requirements and deliver effective presentations.
- Supports development, design verification, and demonstration of advanced technologies for aerospace and defense applications.
- Assists with conceptual design, analysis, prototype development, and system-level testing.
- Collaborates across engineering disciplines to support full-scale system development and validation.
- Mentors junior engineers and provides technical guidance within the development team.
- Applies strong hands-on engineering skills in fast-paced project environments.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience and registration.
- Typically 4-7 years of aerospace or defense engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading product development tests, including leading development testing and assisting in qualification testing.
- Proficiency with data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
- Solid understanding of multiple engineering technologies.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks with experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of military and commercial specifications.
- A current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
