Job Description:

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

The work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM.  USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment.

You will play a crucial role in providing support in the following areas:

  • Installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting information systems, applications, servers, and peripheral hardware across mission‑critical environments.
  • Supporting day‑to‑day IT operations including system repairs, software updates, patching, and hardware replacements to ensure continuous availability for USSTRATCOM users.
  • Providing technical assistance for end‑users, resolving issues related to system access, networking, applications, and workstation performance.
  • Monitoring system performance, identifying issues, and escalating complex problems to engineering or cybersecurity teams as needed.
  • Maintaining Active Directory accounts, group policies, permissions, and system configurations in accordance with security standards.
  • Documenting troubleshooting steps, repair actions, system changes, and operational procedures to ensure consistent and accurate service delivery.
  • Supporting deployments, installations, and integration of new equipment, routers, servers, and system software in NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments.
  • Collaborating with operations, networking, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to maintain system health and ensure compliance with mission requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education:  AA/AS (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in technical support, system maintenance, or IT operations
  • Required Certifications: ITIL Foundations v4 Certificate or the ability to obtain within 9 mos
  • 8140 Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have a current/active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI status
  • Location: Offutt AFB, NE
  • Experience in providing technical support in secure, mission‑focused environments.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, MS Office, system software, server software, and workstation troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, routers, databases, and system security best practices.
  • Strong documentation, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose complex issues, escalate appropriately, and collaborate effectively across technical teams.
  • Experience with deployments, system upgrades, and IT maintenance operations.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $34.94 - $47.28. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
