Full Job Description
HOURGLASS COSMETICS - Designer (Hybrid Role)

Our in-house Creative and Content Studio is responsible for producing a wide range of content, with an increasing focus on video first assets and activations. We are looking for a deadline-driven, creative mind who is highly collaborative. The ideal candidate has an understanding of how marketing campaigns work, especially in the retail sector, to support our consumer messaging and storytelling.

In this role, you will work directly with the Senior Graphic Designer and Art Director on a wide variety of image campaigns, branding, packaging, and graphic design projects. The Graphic Designer will support the execution of marketing briefs, helping to maintain the Hourglass brand identity across all communication and consumer touchpoints. You will help ensure that the brand maintains a clear and consistent visual representation, tone of voice, and aesthetic that reflects its brand mission and pillars while meeting business objectives.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including e-commerce, marketing, and retail. This position requires a collaborative, design-forward mentality with a keen eye for photography, design, and typography, and familiarity with current beauty and luxury design trends and best practices.

This is a unique career opportunity in a fast-paced, growth-stage luxury beauty brand, centered on innovation and creative excellence.

WHAT YOU DO
  • Execute design and branding elements for digital, mobile, social, e-commerce, in-store, and print channels.
  • Retouch and color-correct product and campaign imagery to meet brand standards, maintaining accurate product color representation across all touchpoints.
  • Resize, and adapt existing design assets across multiple formats and channels, ensuring consistency throughout.
  • Prepare, package, and spec files for print projects with correct dimensions, die-lines, and resolution.
  • Support packaging design execution, including adapting copy, updating shade ranges, and preparing print-ready files with correct die-lines, bleed, and resolution.
  • Build and maintain templates for recurring digital and print formats, including email banners, paid social ads, retailer assets, and in-store signage to ensure consistency and production efficiency.
  • Support the creation of seasonal campaign and product launch assets across all channels, from e-commerce imagery and retailer kits to organic social content.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including e-commerce, marketing, and retail partners on project execution.
  • Maintain an organized asset library, ensuring files are properly labeled, archived, and accessible across teams.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered within deadline.

YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB IF:
  • You are CREATIVE: You are innovative, and forward-thinking in your approach, and mindset.
  • You are extremely ORGANIZED: You're not overwhelmed by the thought of tackling multiple tasks at a time.
  • You are DETAIL ORIENTED: You appreciate the importance of having detailed and precise information.
  • You are a strong COMMUNICATOR: You are a people person, natural leader and collaborate well with others.
  • You are AGILE: You adapt well to changing needs and priorities and are able to pivot easily to achieve goals and deadlines.
  • You are PASSIONATE about beauty: You are eager to learn and absorb all things related to beauty, brand, and creative strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in a beauty, fashion, luxury agency, or in-house environment.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing work across digital, social, web, and print; beauty or consumer goods experience is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with image retouching and color correction, particularly for product photography.
  • Experience adapting and resizing assets across a variety of formats and platforms.
  • Familiarity with packaging design workflows and print production processes.
  • Ability to take direction from Art Directors and the Marketing team and deliver on multiple design solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize tight deadlines and follow through.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and experience working with online ad design specs and media requirements.
  • Knowledge of best practices for the web with a focus on beauty retail and editorial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present and explain design work clearly to non-creative partners.
  • High proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Bridge, and Figma.
  • Some experience with motion graphics or video editing is a plus.
  • Must be able to work from the Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.

The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $88,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
