Full Job Description

Designer, Architecture for GFT Infrastructure, Inc. to work at our Chicago, IL loc. May work remotely a portion of each week.

 

Prepare project docs incl plans, details, & initial set up work. Generate take offs for cost estimates & perform architectural calcs (e.g. square foot) to support architectural activities involving design of architectural systems, components, or features. Gather & record info (e.g. product information & cut sheets) to be used for cost estimating & specs. Support efforts for studies & reports. Assist w/ preparation of routine technical reports or sections of reports. Assist w/ sheet set up on project drawings, drawing schedules, plans, elevations, sections, details, & specs. Assist w/ pick up of redline markings on drawings & completion of work. Prepare 3D imaging using proprietary software for client & in house preparations as directed by supervisor. Learn basic code eval procedure & info gathering requirements for review w/ supervisor. Coordinate work w/ other team members. Project work during construction as assigned by supervisor incl submittal tasks, RFIs, supplemental work incl sketches, or submittal review process. Use effective communication skills for internal communications with team and supervisor, and for assigned presentations. Portfolio may be requested during the interview process. Little national travel may be involved, to client sites/project locations/conferences. Travel not exceeding 60 days/year or 5 days in single trip.

Must have Bachelor’s in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field; 2 years relevant experience in architecture; and required skills (2 years exp) in: reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings; Revit; SketchUp; graphic software including AutoCad, Enscape, Photoshop, and Illustrator.   Compensation:The salary range for this role is $61,589 to $100,200.
