Full Job Description
GA-EMS has an exciting opportunity located in Rancho Bernardo, CA for a Design Verification Engineer to join the Design Services Team. Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for determining and developing effective approaches for resolving a wide range of difficult engineering problems while ensuring design compliance with industry standards and company procedures. This role combines engineering problem-solving with comprehensive design verification and checking responsibilities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Evaluates, troubleshoots, and develops effective approaches for resolving engineering issues using standard engineering and scientific principles. • Checks complex design and documentation packages (Initial Releases and Change Notices) for compliance with ASME Y[redacted], ASME Y14.5-2018 (GD&T), and in-house procedures. • Verifies drawings and documentation for fabricated items, schematics, assemblies, SCDs, and VICDs for fit, form, function, and dimensional completeness. • Performs tolerance stack-up analysis and recommends changes to Standard Drawing Notes. • Directs activities of designers, technicians, and less experienced professional staff. • Collaborates with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and configuration management to resolve technical and PDM-related issues. • Documents findings, tracks workload status, and makes technical presentations as required. • May coordinate project segments and represent the organization on technical issues. • Observes all laws, regulations, and safety procedures. Job Qualifications • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. • Thorough understanding of ASME Y[redacted], ASME Y14.5-2018 (GD&T), engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory. • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems. • Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to read and interpret detailed guidelines, procedures, drawings, and specifications. • Professional Engineering License is desirable. • Ability to work independently and lead teams; customer-focused with ability to work extended hours and travel as required. • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance may be required.
