Tele-Consultants, Inc. (TCI) is actively seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT).
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Create and update Electrical Cabling Diagram and Wire Tables for each Platform;
- Create and update Multi-Layered Visio Diagrams of System Alterations utilizing latest SOD information from Platform Engineers;
- Perform Drawing Reviews for all drawings In/Out of NUWC before release, provide Comment Spreadsheets of changes if necessary to Platform Engineer and Design Engineer;
- Attend comment adjudication meetings as required;
- Implement approved changes to Drawings;
- Provide SDVT/SAT Laboratory testing support when scheduled;
- Provide EQT support - Environmental Testing of Networking equipment (Write Test Plans/Procedures, and testing of equipment);
- Attend weekly SME meeting;
- Provide weekly status report during SME meeting to Design Engineer;
- Generate Equipment ICD's (Port layouts for each piece of Networking equipment) and update as needed;
- Maintain communication between CSRR and ADNS Networking Groups.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline;
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic design required.
Minimum Qualifications:- Experience with systems and data modeling techniques;
- Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings;
- Understand risk assessment and management;
- Systems Engineering experience related to US Navy Platforms and/or test systems a plus;
- Working knowledge of lab-based test equipment/applications;
- Networking experience a plus;
- Experienced knowledge of MS Office Suite;
- Demonstrated writing and presentation skills;
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
The primary location for performance of the work will be in Newport, RI with occasional travel required within the continental United States.
