Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings with GD&T, and engineering documentation like DFMEAs and DVP&Rs.
  • Lead product development by defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies.
  • Work closely with program management, process, and quality teams at manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA/VE activities.
  • Collaborate with Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms.
  • Engage in hands-on assembly of new design concepts for prototype builds and validations.
  • Communicate directly with customers to gather technical requirements and provide design solutions.
  • Generate innovative design concepts to meet OEM customer needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes and product performance.

Full Job Description
In this role, you'll take automotive components from concept through to high-volume production, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings with GD&T, and engineering documentation such as DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, tolerance stack-ups and other engineering calculations


  • Lead product development through defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies


  • Work in close partnership with program management, process and quality teams at Multimatic's manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA/VE activities


  • Collaborate with Multimatic's Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms


  • Hands-on assembly of new design concepts to support prototype builds, testing, and validation


  • Communicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, provide design solutions and program updates


  • Generating innovative design concepts to satisfy OEM customer requirements


  • Drive continuous improvement in design process and product performance


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.


  • 3+ years of proven experience in automotive component design


  • Proficient in CAD software (CATIA or NX preferred) for 3D modelling and GD&T drafting


  • Strong knowledge of kinematics, materials, and design for high-volume manufacture and assembly

$57,658.00 - $107,000.00
