In this role, you'll take automotive components from concept through to high-volume production, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings with GD&T, and engineering documentation such as DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, tolerance stack-ups and other engineering calculations
- Lead product development through defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies
- Work in close partnership with program management, process and quality teams at Multimatic's manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA/VE activities
- Collaborate with Multimatic's Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms
- Hands-on assembly of new design concepts to support prototype builds, testing, and validation
- Communicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, provide design solutions and program updates
- Generating innovative design concepts to satisfy OEM customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in design process and product performance
Qualifications & Skills - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience in automotive component design
- Proficient in CAD software (CATIA or NX preferred) for 3D modelling and GD&T drafting
- Strong knowledge of kinematics, materials, and design for high-volume manufacture and assembly
- Understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, structured root cause analysis methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- A genuine passion for mechanical design and the automotive world - ideally demonstrated through personal projects, Formula SAE participation, or hands-on work with your own vehicles.

$57,658.00 - $107,000.00
