GPT Grain Design EngineerJob DescriptionGrain & Protein Technologies (GPT) has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer in Paris, IL, Assumption, IL or Omaha, NE. As a Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development of new products as well as the enhancement and maintenance of existing products. You will collaborate across multiple functions to solve technical challenges, support key business initiatives, and take ownership of engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
ImpactProduct Design & Development- Contribute to concept development, design, prototyping, testing, validation, documentation, and release of new products.
- Develop engineering solutions that meet customer, manufacturing, quality, and market requirements.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of existing products through design enhancements, cost reduction initiatives, and quality improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Technical Support, and Sales teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Participate in design reviews and engineering evaluations to ensure robust, manufacturable product solutions.
- Support new product launches and implementation activities across the organization.
- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Customer & Business Support- Design and document customized equipment solutions to meet customer requirements and project specifications.
- Provide engineering support for customer inquiries, product applications, and technical problem-solving activities.
- Support key organizational initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, operational performance, and product competitiveness.
- Assist with field investigations, product evaluations, and corrective action activities when necessary.
Culture of Excellence- Ensure engineering work is completed accurately and efficiently while adhering to established standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned projects and deliverables.

Experience and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical, drafting, or field experience will be considered.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to develop practical, innovative engineering solutions.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical design principles, with experience designing sheet metal components preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Three to five years of experience in product or design engineering.
- Experience with Creo and Windchill.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, manufacturing, or assembly processes.
- Experience in the agricultural equipment industry.
Compensation and BenefitsExpected annual salary for this role will be $70,000 - $100,000 plus a bonus target. This is dependent upon job-related knowledge, experience, and skills.

Your Workplace and TravelYou will be working a hybrid role with four days per week (Monday - Thursday) in office (Fridays are flexible for in office or remote) based in Paris, IL, Assumption, IL or Omaha, NE.
Occasional travel may be required, up to 10%.
