  • Review engineering drawings and assemblies to ensure manufacturability and production readiness
  • Support the transition of projects from design through fabrication and final assembly
  • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to clarify drawings, tolerances, and assembly intent
  • Assist the drafting department in improving drawing standards, workflows, and documentation processes
  • Support implementation and optimization of drawing practices for robotic welding cell integration
  • Identify opportunities for design simplification, cost reduction, and production efficiency improvements
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback related to fabrication, welding, and assembly
  • Ensure engineering documentation complies with company standards and customer specifications
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective design actions
  • Maintain revision control and support engineering change management processes
  • Work closely with project teams to support schedules, deliverables, and production timelines
  • Create or assist with detailed shop drawings required for outsourced components and fabrication activities
  • Learn and support programming software requirements to serve as a backup programmer when needed
  • Support ASC's commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction through sound engineering practices

What We're Looking For

  • Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes including:
    • Welding and weld symbols
    • CNC manufacturing
    • Robotic welding concepts
    • Assembly processes
  • Ability to interpret, create, and communicate technical drawings and engineering concepts effectively
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and collaborating across engineering, production, and operations teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence

Preferred Experience
  • Background in design standardization and engineering process improvement initiatives
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience working in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with engineering change management and document control systems
  • Experience supporting robotic welding or automated manufacturing technologies

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to regularly walk the production floor and interact with manufacturing teams
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout manufacturing areas during project reviews and troubleshooting activities
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25-50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all company safety protocols while on the production floor
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, welding operations, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment
