Job Title: Design Engineer 2
Location: Chillicothe, Illinois
Job Type: Full-time, On-Going Contract, W2
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Onsite
Pay Range: $39.00 - 42.00 based on benefit inclusions
Job Description: Role & Responsibilities: - Create new or modify existing cooling components and systems based on customer/project requirements
- Work as part of a project team to coordinate component/system development and determine project scope and limitations
- Review project requests describing customer needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish projects
- Design, develop, build, and implement new cooling system components, products, or technologies
- Create 3D design components/systems and support prototype building, testing, and analysis
- Communicate with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to develop production-ready products
- Assist with supplier development and supplier performance alongside supply specialists and buyers
- Oversee drafting and testing activities as needed
- Develop and document functional requirements and translate them into detailed design documentation
- Participate in buy-build analysis for product components
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Test and evaluate alternative production methods and assist in building complex prototypes
Skills: - Strong proficiency in Creo (PTC Creo) for 3D modeling and drafting
- Experience creating and modifying 2D and 3D engineering drawings
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Understanding of cooling systems, thermodynamics, or thermal technologies
- Ability to support the product development lifecycle (requirements ? design ? testing ? delivery)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers
Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3-4 years of mechanical design experience
- Hands-on experience using Creo CAD software
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Preferred: - Experience with prototype development and testing
- Exposure to supplier coordination or manufacturing environments
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives and prioritize effectively
