Summary

The Department of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track) specializing in Dermatology. The successful candidate will join and help develop the Baylor Medicine Team, with a primary clinical focus in General Dermatology.

Responsibilities include providing outpatient services, including participating in affiliate hospital consults and after-hours on-call coverage. The role could include serving as Associate Program Director for the Dermatology Residency Program, contributing to trainee education, and attending departmental meetings and conferences. Opportunities for involvement in teaching, leadership, and quality improvement initiatives are strongly supported.

Job Duties

Faculty members are expected to demonstrate competency in each of the following areas:
  • Join, develop and market the Baylor Medicine
  • Evaluate new and existing patients in the Dermatology outpatient clinic
  • Meet productivity benchmarks established by Baylor College of Medicine
  • Participate in all routine clinical meetings held with the immediate work group
  • Potentially serve as Associate Program Director for the Dermatology Resident Program, assisting with administration, curriculum development, and program oversight in alignment with ACGME and GME standards
    Maintain required certifications and licensing
  • Become familiar with Electronic Medical Record system, enter data into EMR, and develop a level of competency to document all patient encounters
    Complete all documentation in a timely manner
  • Orders for diagnostic services and referrals to specialists
  • Be an active member of a clinical group practice, including educational activities such as participate in lectures, monthly faculty meetings & retreats
  • Meet or exceed all quality indicators
  • Maintain professionalism in relationships with students, faculty, ancillary and administrative staff
  • All professional billing and appropriate credentialing paperwork must be completed/renewed well ahead of their expiration


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: M.D
  • Minimum Job Experience: Experience in Dermatology is preferred. Completion of ACGME Dermatology Residency
  • Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board and Board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology
