Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Deputy Program Manager (DPM).

The DPM will work directly with the Program Manager (PM) to ensure continuous coverage of customer requirements and support strategic goals. The successful candidate will excel at leading cross functional teams towards the accomplishment of diverse customer requirements. The candidate will be self-motivated, pro-active, and thrive in an environment that requires seeking out solutions to undefined problems. This role requires continuous learning across a complex mission space.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the PM with daily program execution on a 15+ FTE program
  • Serve as second in command and stand in for PM during their absence, understanding fully the PM's intentions and direction
  • Track program financials against funding levels working with PM and program controller
  • Assists PM with development of program financial forecasts based on projected customer requirements and staffing levels
  • Manages a cross functional team providing a highly diverse skill set across many customer projects and competing priorities to achieve customer mission needs
  • Supports team managers as they provide direct leadership to members of their team executing customer requirements
  • Ensures team managers have appropriate resources to meet customer requirements; assists and mentors' managers
  • Develops strong relationships with customer stakeholders to understand and anticipate needs
  • Produces monthly summary of program technical achievements and program performance towards customer requirements
  • Proactively develops solutions to emerging problems and assists the PM with developing and executing against strategic program objectives

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, operations research, math, finance, accounting, or a related field; or four years of relevant experience can be substituted for the degree
  • Experience on the SAIC/NIWC contracts is strongly desired
  • Six (6) + years of project management experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a secret security clearance
  • Common access card is desired
