Summary Statement The Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA) seeks an experienced executive to serve as Deputy Medicaid Director. This position reports to the Deputy Secretary for Medicaid; this leader helps direct one of Delaware's largest public programs, providing executive oversight of policy, finance, operations, strategy, and program implementation. This position represents DMMA before state and federal partners and leads major organizational functions. One or more positions may be filled, with responsibilities focused on either finance or policy/operations.

- Assists the Director in the development and administration of the programs, activities, contracts and services provided and/or managed by the Division.
- Develops methods for the systematic review and evaluation of programs, services and other related activities.
- Assists the Director in the preparation and administration of the budget through the review and approval of divisional budget requests.
- Directs managers in the development of administrative policy and procedures.
- Acts as a representative on statewide advisory, planning and task force committees to advise on policy development and implementation.
- Develops and maintains effective working and public relations with representatives of federal, state, and local government, community officials, service providers and elected officials.

- Three years of responsible work experience at a senior management level in human services or a closely related field.
- Experience in planning and coordination of staff, operations, and services.
- Knowledge of federal and state health care programs and policy, including Medicaid eligibility.
- Ability to work effectively with health care providers and health insuring organizations.

Conditions of HireAll new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
