What You'll Be Doing
The Deputy General Counsel will advise and support Stifel’s growing banks and trust companies as part of an established team of legal colleagues, in cooperation with compliance and other professionals. Experience in supporting regulated banks and their lending activities is required. What We're Looking For
Advise on: Deposits and treasury managementCommercial and consumer lendingCommercial contracts and other banking products, services, and business initiatives
Conduct and support:Due diligence, workouts, disputes and distressed credit mattersDrafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including relevant regulatory requirementsIdentification, assessment and advising of legal and regulatory riskMonitoring of legal and regulatory landscape and changes
What You'll Bring
Strong knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations applicable to regulated financial institutionsSignificant firm or in-house experience supporting commercial banks and other regulated financial institutionsDemonstrated expertise with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and secured creditsIndependence, integrity, team play and client relationship acumen
Education & Experience
J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar in good standing3 6 years of experience practicing law, primarily in or for banking institutions or other regulated financial institutions
Compensation RangeSalary: USD $200,000.00/Yr. - USD $275,000.00/Yr. Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidates qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifels overall compensation package for each individual employee.
