Full Job Description
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking an experienced Deputy Electrical Safety Officer to support the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of the Laboratory's Electrical Safety Program. Reporting to the Electrical Safety Officer (ESO), this position serves as a key technical leader responsible for electrical safety program execution, electrical code compliance, equipment safety evaluations, lockout/tagout oversight, and institutional electrical safety initiatives across a world-class scientific research environment. The Deputy Electrical Safety Officer works collaboratively with Facilities & Operations, Engineering, Research Divisions, Project Management, and ESH personnel to ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements while supporting SLAC's scientific mission. This position serves as the primary backup to the Electrical Safety Officer and provides technical leadership on complex electrical safety matters involving conventional facilities, experimental systems, and research equipment.
