Overview

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (7CFO8) in his or her development of strategic financial goals of Renasant Corporation and its direct and indirect subsidiaries (collectively, 7the company8), the management and oversight of the financial reporting (public company and regulatory), accounting and tax functions of the company, and capital and liquidity planning. The Deputy Chief Financial Officer shall assist the CFO in strategic planning, annual budgeting, investor relations and merger and acquisition matters.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Company6s Control (Accounting) Department, including:
    • Staffing matters (hiring, compensation, supervision, development and related matters)
    • Development and implementation of policies, procedures and infrastructure to ensure the company maintains an internal financial reporting system in compliance with GAAP and that otherwise satisfies the internal and external financial reporting needs of the company
    • Administration of accounts payable department
  • Prepare the annual budget and strategic plan, including the development of systems to analyze factors impacting the company6s performance against budget and to report company performance to business units
  • Oversight of the company6s tax planning and compliance function, including the development of policies, processes and procedures to ensure timely tax payment and return filing as well as strategies to minimize the federal and state tax burden
  • Prepare and timely filing of reports and filings of the company (including its directors and executive officers) required pursuant to federal and state banking laws and regulations as well as under federal securities laws, including assistance in the development of the non-financial portions of such reports. Coordination with internal and external auditors in connection with such reports.
  • Manage the capital and liquidity planning process to ensure the company satisfies regulatory requirements and internal benchmarks, including loan and deposit pricing, development of sources of capital and strategies for return of capital to shareholders
  • Assist in matters related to incentive plan, deferred compensation and other benefit plan reporting matters
  • Oversight of the investor relations function, including investor outreach and transfer agent matters
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on new accounting and regulatory rules, providing guidance for implementation, developing procedures for compliance and communicating those to the Bank Controller for implementation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor6s degree in the field of Accounting, Business, Finance (or similar field) required; Master6s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of job related experience within the financial services industry with similar asset sizes or other major company or division of a large corporation
  • Strong knowledge of partnering with an executive team for strategic planning
  • Advanced budget management, cost-benefit analyses, forecasting and revenue management skills
  • Good knowledge of both GAAP and regulatory rules and guidelines
  • Ability to lead and direct staff in such a manner that motivates and instills respect while driving results
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced reasoning skills with ability to make sound judgments
  • Proficient computer skills with efficiencies in Excel, Word, etc.
  • Strong business analytics and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel for meetings, special events and/or training opportunities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
