Deputy Chief Credit Officer to join our Credit Risk Management in our Novato, CA office.
The Deputy Chief Credit Officer is a senior credit leadership role serving as a critical partner to the Chief Credit Officer, the commercial banking leadership team, and executive management. This position plays a central role in driving disciplined credit decisioning while maintaining efficiency, partnership, and accountability across the lending lifecycle.
This role is responsible for providing meaningful input into the Bank's credit philosophy, underwriting standards, and risk appetite, and helps evolve credit processes to support the Bank's strategic objectives. The role functions as a trusted credit authority, helping relieve approval bottlenecks, ensure consistency in underwriting, and strengthen the overall operating rhythm between credit and lending.
The Deputy Chief Credit Officer is actively involved in complex credit structuring and approvals, particularly for C&I and larger, more sophisticated relationships, and exercises independent approval authority with minimal oversight. Reporting directly to the Chief Credit Officer, the Deputy CCO oversees key credit administration functions and also serve as a voting member of Internal Loan Committee. This position is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and performance of functional management across credit administration, loan operations, loan documentation, and consumer lending. This role carries broad exposure to all aspects of the credit function and plays a key role in ensuring the overall strength, consistency, and effectiveness of the Bank's credit organization.

- Demonstrated experience serving as a senior credit approver and trusted advisor to commercial banking teams.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leadership to support growth while maintaining credit discipline.
- Strong management experience, including departmental planning, goal setting, budgeting, and personnel administration.
- Ability to establish and execute a forward looking vision for the credit organization that leverages technology and analytics across all lines of business
Professional / Educational Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and minimum 10 year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The hiring pay range for this position is $223,795 to $324,505. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
