While attorneys largely manage their own cases, they will receive support and guidance from both their supervisor and colleagues. The attorney also may be teamed up with more senior attorneys on matters deemed to be more complex and difficult.
As a Deputy Attorney General I or II (DAG I or DAG II) gains experience, work increases in complexity and is performed with more independence. A Deputy Attorney General III (DAG III) will be assigned more complex and significant cases and works independently on most matters. This position requires occasional travel for client meetings or site visits, travel to the federal or state courts within the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for court appearances and occasional travel to Harrisburg or Pittsburgh based on case needs or required training events.
