Full Job Description
The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City is seeking a highly motivated, team-spirited veterinarian to join our Dentistry Service. You will not find a hospital that practices a higher level of medicine while fostering camaraderie and dedication to patient care like at AMC.

Our team is led by two highly experienced dentists (including one who is board certified), one resident, and supported by a team of experienced technicians and assistants.

The applicant must be board eligible or board certified in Dentistry and eligible for licensure in New York State.
About Dentistry at AMC

The dentistry suite has 4 workstations each equipped with Midmark Canis Major wet tables and VetPro5000 dental units. Each table has Berchold LED surgical lighting, Mindray anesthesia monitors, large high detail monitors above each table for radiographs, Bair Huggers and electrocautery units. We currently have three modalities for dental imaging including PS-2 direct #2 sensors, a ScanX Duo indirect scanner system with sizes 0-4 plates, and a VetCAT cone beam CT, along with access to the fully staffed radiology department's ultrasound, plain radiography, MRI and CT capability. The suite is also equipped with a Sirona X-Smart IQ handpiece and a lightspeed Elements motor and handpiece including the full complement of rotary files. The Dentistry Service is busy with a wide range of cases including maxillofacial trauma, orthodontics and oral surgical oncology. The AMC is currently undergoing a $100 million renovation and the new surgical floor will be equipped with an operatory appropriate for performing oral surgeries, opening in 2024.

One of our biggest assets is our ability to collaborate with many specialty services, including 2.5 full time anesthesiologists, a large surgical support staff including a surgical oncologist, as well as the ancillary departments that help improve the quality of care. These departments include 24-hour emergency and critical care, cardiology, oncology, and radiation oncology that utilizes a brand new Elekta Infinity HD LINAC. The AMC is also committed to teaching and research with a large rotating intern and resident presence. The dentistry service currently has one resident per 3-year term.
