The University of Texas San Antonio, School Dentistry, is seeking applications for a full-time position as Assistant Dean, Clinical Affairs, as a Non-Tenure Track faculty at Open Rank as an Assistant, Associate or Professor/Clinical. The academic home will be determined based on the specialty of the candidate selected from one of the following departments: Comprehensive Dentistry, Developmental Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and or Predoctoral Education Dental. Rank will be evaluated on professional and academic experience.

As the Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, you will be responsible for leadership, supervision, and coordination of the following: clinical and administrative services associate with clinics that fall under the oversight of the Office of Patient Care, including Special Care, Geriatrics, General Dentistry Clinic, and Advanced Education in General Dentistry's clinical practice, as well as any associated future clinical initiatives.

Qualifications are:
  • DDS degree or foreign equivalent dental qualification.
  • Eligibility for and possession of an active Texas dental license by the start date
  • 10+ years of direct clinical care delivery
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within a multi-specialty practice or academic enterprise
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical operations, healthcare administration and practice management
