The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery in the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio seeks a full-time Adult Cardiac Surgeon faculty with an outstanding record of clinical productivity and demonstrated interest in graduate medical education.
Dynamic leadership, motivation, organization, interpersonal skills, and keen vision are required. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Division Chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery, the ideal candidate will be responsible for adding specific expertise to our programs. Specifically, mastery and expertise of the thoracic aorta from both an open and endovascular approach and additional expertise in minimally invasive revascularization or valve surgery is desired. The ability to cover call for all facets of adult cardiac surgery are a must. The aptitude and attitude of assisting with Thoracic Surgery, Adult Congenital cases and Pulmonary Transplantation would be desired. A demonstrated ability of building robust clinical and high-quality educational programs within a collegial interactive culture is required. UT Health San Antonio is a research-intensive institution and a demonstrated capability in laboratory or clinical investigation is desired.
Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Thoracic Surgery. The ideal candidate will have a desire to develop or further their national and international reputation and the Departments. Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, across the Health Science Center is important.
